How to Train a Puppy - Immediate and Consistent Response is Key
There is a great deal of education and articles with tips on how to train a puppy, but one of the key things that many (OK, most) dog owners miss is the very critical concept that any behavior modification with puppies must be immediately after the behavior you would like to change. Puppies do not learn the same way as humans. The do not have any sense of “right and wrong” as humans do. What motivates a puppy to change his behavior is his desire to please you. Therefore he will adjust his behaviors according to your response, as long as he can associate that response to a particular behavior.
