How do I stop my dog from biting and nipping at strangers and people?
I have a red heeler and every time a stranger tries to pet him he will nip at the stranger and sometimes even bite the stranger. He also sometimes barks at strangers too. Whenever someone tries to pet him he bows his head and puts his ears down and lowers his body. He never bites me or even nips at me or my family, but when strangers come, he will nip.

I have a Beagle Jack Russell terrier mix. He is about 9 months old. We adopted him from a shelter 2 months ago. He is a great dog. He's housebroken, very intelligent, and great with my kids a boy who is 5 and a girl who is 21 months . He has been fixed also. My only concern with him is that when he's excited and playful he play bites and nips. If we try to pet him when he's excited he nips at our hands. It's not aggressive. He just nips and lets go. However, it's starting to scare my kids to the point where they don't want to go near him. He loves the kids and when he's calm, he loves them. He cuddles with them, licks them, and they could do anything to him, and he could care less. I don't know what to do about this problem.
5 Month old Chihuahua biting and nipping at feet...?
For example, when im laying on my bed and hes running around the room, he'll bite my feet over and over or when sitting with me he'll bite my hands repeatedly. Ive tried just about everything, he wont listen...also, he is pretty much potty trained, he knows what to do and everything. but when hes mad he'll pee on my bed or something hellpppp, im losing hope with the little guy. Ive had him since he was 12 weeks.

I read that we can put some in the freezer then give them to her to ease the teething pain.

We just got a 6 week old Great Dane. The only way she wants to play is to bite and nip at our clothes, hands, etc. What are some ideas on how to approach this unwanted behavior? And how long will it take before she gets the idea? I've had dogs before but she is by far the worst that I've seen at doing this. Thanks in advance Agree with her being too young to be from her mother. I said the same thing but pretty much was forced into taking the puppy early.
Rescue dog biting and nipping?
Hi DS. I rescued a neutered older Lab 18 months ago after my 4 yo show lab died. The rescue was To be company for my 10 yo spayed female Lab after the loss. I recently got a new show lab puppy. Introductions have been well supervised. After having the pup for 2 months he is 4 months old now I thought I would let all 3 dogs have their first together interaction today.They were fine for 15 mins playing tug o war with a rope toy, then suddenly the rescue started to attack my 10 yo female, he hasn't done this before. I tried to get hold of my rescues collar and he started to nip me, finally he bit my arm.When I first took him he was a nipper but I had gotten this out of him. He also chewed holes in his blankets, it was like a nervous thing which he also stopped after the first 6 months with me.Today he scared me, I had to let go of his collar, luckily I had a slip lead handy and put it over his neck and shut him round my dog run at the side of my house.I am wary of him now, sporting a very sore bruise on my arm.Anyone got advise on what to do??
My horse has a biting and nipping problem occasionally?
I lounged my horse for about ten to fifteen minutes...he did a pretty decent job lounging considering it was the first time I had him out in a couple months because of winter. After I lunged him,I was in a round pen and I decided to just hop om him bareback for a few minutes and just walk around the pen a couple times and then brush him and put him back in his pasture. I went to hop on him... and as I did that motion to get on his back he bit me really hard in the back of the thigh..it hurt and nrought me to tears... I slapped him on the shoulder..and yelled at him.. he's 5 years old...gelding.. and I have not spent very much time with him because I have school and a job...abd winter I couldn't really do much...so I think he might be mad at me maybe...this wasn't his first time doing this.. so how do I put a stop to his nipping and biting problem? And please no lectures about the feeding treats from your hand....I don't do tht..only every now and again... and he is healthy and sound so I no when I got on his back it didn't hurt him either. And he doesn't do it every time I get on him to ride or only when its bareback... Thanks

7 Month Old Mutt Biting and Nipping?
My 7 month old Summer is a major sweetie, but when she's excited, she tends to bite and nip us. Especially my mum and dad. They're really getting annoyed by this, and I'm afraid of what might happen if the problem persistsSometimes, she'd even jump up and bite. Just this morning she jumped and bit my mum on the armpit My mum got so angry she grab her by the neck for quite a while until she laid down submissively.I've tried telling her no, yelling at her, prying her away, even hitting her. I've even tried to mimic a doggy situation, where if they bite too hard, the other doggy doesn't want to play. So I tell her no and stop playing with her for awhile. but what frustrates me is that more often than not, she nips when we ARE ignoring her It's so frustrating, because I really love her and she's such a sweetheart.Some additional info if it helps, I adopted her about 3 weeks ago.Thanks so much for any feedback.
My puppy bites and nips at everyone and everything ?
We found a puppy no older than 3 weeks. We have no idea what kind of puppy she is but she is definitely a biter. I've tried yelping to putting chew toys in her mouth and she doesnt pay attention to the chew toy and goes straight for my fingers or toes again. For a small puppy that weighs a few pounds, she's kind of Viscous and out of control. Does this mean she is going to be this way her whole life? Help I give her raw hides and plush squeaky toys and the raw hides just make her teeth sharper. Any other suggestions?
