What about dog training collars?
When i was at a lake one day, I saw this guy who had a small shock giving collar on his dog. It was to keep the dog from wandering too far without a leash. Now i do a lot during the summer, like swimming at lakes and going on walks a lot. It would be really nice to not always worry about my dog running off. She is a small lab mix, about 40 lbs. She listens well, but when she sees something, she doesn't stop. I'm kind of nervous about " shocking" her. Has any one had this, or can any one reccomend what type of shocking collar I should get? She is female dog aggressive, too, so I would want her to stray no more than 50 feet.she isn't human aggressive what so ever. only female dog aggressive. and the shock collar i saw was water proof.
Can you tell me some positive experiences you have had with electronic dog training collars?
I know many people don't like the idea of using electronic shock training collars. But I also know most people don't know how to train their dogs properly which results in dogs biting people, running away and getting hit by cars. Tell me some positive stories.

i have heard about a dog collar that you put it on the dog and you can leave the dog outside and it wont leave your property.well overaalll we cant get her trained and she is a beagle and we try our hardest we do evberything right and yet she still goes to the bathroom in our house and now they want to get rid of herif you know anything help please and if you kn ow any home remedies on how to get the smell of urine out of tiles it would be greatly appreciated thanks
How effective are electric remote dog training collars?
How effective are these electric remote dog training collars. Also I m finding that there is a very large price difference between the UK available products and the products available direct from Chine. Where would be the best place to purchase it from. I have an 8 month old very lovable but naughty Weimaraner. Casper . The kids and I have sought of given him to much of a good thing and now he is getting out of hand Eg when asked to get off the sofa, he likes to show his pearly white teeth.

Has anyone ever used this dog training collar for their dog? how thick is a Boxers neck(the skin)?
its called the SPORTDOG SD 105S YARD TRAINER its for stubborn dogs. i have read a little bit about it and they say its for dogs over 15 lbs. so i guess it will work on a boxer. also does anyone know if a boxers neck the skin is really thick like an Akita's. the only reason that im looking into this collar is because my dog is very stubborn and doesn't listen to any of my commands i even hired a profesional trainer to work with me and him and the dog wouldn't even do what the trainer asked. so im at my wits end with this and im wanting to get this collar and try that.i have tried everything else obedience classes and other trainers. and he knows that im the leader but he doesn't mind me when i give him commands.my aunt has an Akita and she is a certified Akita handler, and she told me that they have very thick skin, and she suggested to me to find out if a Boxer has thick skin on their neck.

I have a small 9 lb bichon frise poodle mix and he is such a pain to take for a walk. He pulls so much and starts hacking like I'm strangling him I've heard of the Gentle Leader Head Collar and the Halti Head Collar and both have very mixed reviews. Just looking for opinions on what's worked for you. Thanks
What is the best electronic dog training collar?
My Dog has a strong prey drive. We have a ton of wild turkeys and he needs to chase them. I want to stop that behavior before he runs into the street or runs after something he can't handle. He is an Australian Cattle dog about 50 lbs. Also do you know if they make collars that if the dog gets too far away from the owner the collar beeps? I want to make sure my dog knows he is not supposed to get more than 20 yards away from me. Will it sense the distance and set off an alarm so the dog knows to come back?The problem is when he see's a wild animal he takes off after it. He is well trained in other aspects. He sits, stays, fetches and takes a crap when I want him to. When we are in my yard and a wild turkey comes in the yard I need to be able to correct his instinct to chase immediately before he he even takes off. A leash does not help, a correction with a leash is not doing the trick. It is also difficult to predict when wild animals venture through my yard.

I have the type of training collar that goes over the snout and is high up on the back of the head, it works well for walking on the leash and is a good tool, but how long should my dog wear it? Can he wear it when he is in his kennel and sleeping? The directions said nothing about how long they wear it. thank you
Dog training collar. What do you think?
There are clearly many types of E collars and Training collars but recently I saw one which had Vibration included on the settings. Now this does not cause pain but simply vibrates the box part attached to the collar. In aggression to people or perhaps other animals What do you think about using this Vibration setting instead of using the Shock setting? I am not asking for scolding on using shock collars, but it is simply a thought.This is not for my dog lol I was just wondering. It seemed like a better way to go, if in fact it worked on the dog.I mean a 'better way' then the Shock. And im not talking about full blown aggression as in biting and lunging, but perhaps growling and barking. I agree that training as in classes should be tried and done first as e collars are more extreme.
