I need help with my dog training technique?
My family and I have adopted a dog. Bourbon is a 14 month old springer spaniel bitch. Shes had one previous owner and is house broken. She understands the sit command but right now assumingly she is super hyper....because of the change and is not following the command consistently.....any how....im determined to train my dog....i am not able to pay to have her trained professionally right now...so ive,been researching trainning techniques... I would like to know how long I should train per day....and should I be trainning her one command per day? and also ive been trying to train with dog food but shes not interested went out and bought special snacks hoping these migjt encourage to obey for this reward....any tips on what snack is used for trainning....? Thanks...Fyi this is my first dog so be eady on me...

I need dog training help please!?
My dog is usually very sweet to my family and people she knows but in public, she always barks at strangers and pulls on the leash. Once at the vet, they tried to put a muzzle on her but she snapped at them. I tried afterwards and she still snapped at me which she never does. So I was wondering, does anyone have tips on what I can do to make her more social and friendly? She was when we got her, I don't know what happened Also, my father does encourage her to bark at people which is a HUGE problem, but ignoring that fact because I can try to fix that, I need some tips please Thanks She did used to be friendly and she is 2 years old.

I've trained my 1 year old Doberman to sit perfectly still when I put a beer can on his head and he balances the can on his head without spilling it until I take it off his head. I've also trained him to put his arms around my neck and rub the side of his face against mine like he is cuddling me.What do you think of my dog training

I rescued my puppy 8 months ago. She is currently 10 months old. She is a lab mix but very small. She's 46 pounds and the vet does not think she will be over 50 pounds. She is extremely friendly and loving. When she was 3 months old she had a private trainer. She is very obediate. She can sit, stay, come, lay down, sit back up, give each paw, crawl, and 'touch.' I leave my hand out and she will touch her nose to it. However, due to personal reasons I can no longer afford training, nor do I have the time because my grandfather became ill. I hope to pick up training when things become better but for now I simply can not do it. My problem with my dog is when we leave the house. She is the exact opposite as she is when she is in my house. She chokes her self to death pulling. I have tried every non pull harness, the halti, the gentle leader. The only thing that helps a little is a prong collar. If I bring her in to petco or any other pet store she begins to moan, pull, act crazy. If someone tries to pet her she jumps on them, tangles her self around them and then pees from excitement. She is not food motivated, she likes to be praised. But the second she walks out my front door she will not listen to me whats so ever and looses focus. She is a wonderful dog, I just wish people can see that. But all they see is a untrained dog who is crazy with an owner who has no control over her. I am very embarrassed. Please give me guidance on what I can do to train her.
How to get dad to understand proper dog training?
So my family keeps trying to get my dad to comprehend that no matter how smart our 9 month old Aussie is, she doesn't know English. He'll catch her getting food off the table and say " no, bad dog You don't get food off the table. Sit Bad Bad dog You can stay outside now" . Then half an hour later, he'll let her in and say " bad dog, naughty" . We've reminded him although she ought be disciplined she's not human, and that a simple no, bad dog will do, that saying no after " sit" will confuse her, and that dogs don't remember their wrongdoing half an hr later. He does know this, but when he gets angry he tends to forget. We try to have him stay out of it, but he can't help but get involved. What way might better help him understand? Thanks.
Sled dog training/ starting a puppy?
HiI am getting a Samoyed and I am trying to get into mushing. I live near a mushing club. I am getting a Samoyed in a few months she will be eight weeks when I get her. I have been reading alot on Mushing and training the dogs. I plan on getting my Samoyed trained and when she is about 18 months adopting 2 more 1 or 2 year old sled dogs which have started their training. So I need some infor on starting a puppy all the sled dog training book say to get a " Puppy Harness" and have them wear that when they are outside running starting at about 9 weeks. I h a have read that a " Puppy Harness" is a really light weight harness made out of really thin fabric and it resembles a mushing harness. I have looked online though and I can't find any for sale. I can only find the heavy weight tough ones for older dogs. Where could I find a puppy harness made for starting a ssled dog?Also what are some good books to read? When should I start having her pull twigs and stuff?Orange CO Obviously you did not read the question or have no idea what your talking about. Sled dog harness Normal harnesses that you can get at wal mart, petco, etc. are as good as using a collar when mushing. They put presure on the dog's throat and that can kill a hard working sled dog. Is it possible to make my own guard dog training suit?
