Tips to deal with dog jealousy?
Can someone suggest some tips for dealing with a jealous dog? We recently adopted a young dog and i thought my 4 year old dog would be the one that is jealous. He seems to be doing fine but the new dog is really attached to me. When ever I try to give praise and attention to my older dog he butts in and tries to get some. There has never been any violence, it is just kinda annoying that he won't let the other dog get any love and attention.

How can I tame my cats jealousy?
My cat Lucy is 5 years old and is very timid, Molly is my 3 year old and she is VERY territorial and jealous of Lucy. They are both very sweet and I love them very much but I wish Molly would be a little nicer to Lucy. I understand cats can get jealous, but molly is very aggressive and constantly fights Lucy and pounces on her. If lucy is on my bed getting attention Molly will glare at her and eventually pounce on her and bite and scratch her. Lucy has to sneak around the house and walk on egg shells. If Molly is laying on the floor and lucy walks in the room Molly will jump up and block her or fight her. When i give them treats if i dont monitor them molly will scare Lucy away and eat her treats. If i pick up lucy Molly notices right away and watches our every move, and when i finally get up and leave Lucy unattended Molly will attack her. I love both my cats equally and try my best to give them equal attention and when I see Molly fighting with Lucy I pick up Lucy and pet her to show Molly that Lucy is important to me too. I am just looking for some advice on how to ease the tention between them

Is regression a sign of jealousy?
My nephew of 5 years old has recently come over from Italy with his mother and brother to visit us. We have room in our house to accompany them so obviously we have temporarily transformed these spare rooms into bedrooms. They come to visit us regularly and always stay with us when they do come. We have a 4 year old wheaten terrier who at times can be a bit jealous although he is never too bad. Strangely, when my nephew and his family last came to visit us, my dog showed signs of regression and started stealing food and digging up the plants, which he hasn't done since childhood. I try and pay him as much attention as I can and keep a daily routine but he still shows signs of jealousy. Whenever I hug my nephew he manages to edge his way in between us and as he is a medium size dog and my nephew isn't that tall, my dog jumps up on him and makes my nephew topple over. Im not sure what to do to prevent my dog being jealous and my nephew toppling over and I'm also not sure how to stop my dog regressing?

Need help with excitability and jealousy in a very gentle, calm dog...?
I have a lab husky mix who is 2 years old. We adopted him when he was a year and a half. He is extremely gentle and calm just lies around the house. He is a low energy dog which is surprising given the two breeds he is mixed with. Yet, he is extremely excitable. If I sit on the ground he comes running over and wants to get in my lap. He's also very vocal so while he doesn't bark, he whines a lot He is jealous too of us giving attention to our cats he's gotten better at this , if we pay attention to our new 8 month old puppy too much he will whine and try and push his way to get in between us. I'm wondering if anyone has suggestions for how to make him less excitable so that children or other people could sit on the floor and he wouldn't go nuts. He's the type of dog that if he's laying on the ground and I want to lay next to him he gets way too hyper. Also, any help with the jealousy would be appreciated. If you research husky's...they are known to be vocal and whine a lot but not bark. He has had basic obedience and is a well behaved dog. He just gets really excited over certain things not everything.

Is there any way to stop the jealousy?
I have 2 male cats. One is about 13 years old and neutered. The other is about 9 months old and not neutered. The older one keeps spraying around the house at least once a day. We've had the kitten since November and this spraying just started about 2 weeks ago. There are also a lot of stray cats running around outside in the neighborhood. I don't know what to do Please help

How to help my dog's jealousy issues?
In September I got a kitten and she joined my family that consists of myself and a five years old doxie whom I've had since she was 8 weeks old. Now she's the jealous type and doesn't like the fact that there is now a cat, but I've also recently gone back to college as well after being on a break so now it's just ten times worse. I love my dog, but her acting out is getting annoying. She'll purposely mess in my room even though she's housebroken puppy pad trained. She's chew on my pants, a habit she had as a puppy and was broken of, and is constantly wanting to be held which is close to impossible with my case load. I do spend time with her and love her, but I was hoping anyone could get advise to help her over this jealousy issues. Quitting college and getting rid of the cat isn't an opinion so some advise other than that please. Thank you.Give more attention is something I already do. I'm actually looking for something, I don't know helpful than that. I throw the ball, play tug a wore, take for walks, the whole nine yards so saying give more attention is unhelpful.

My 2yr old dog is boerbul cross something mysterious. She is so cowardly and placid, she has often become the victim of other dogs attacking her due to her timidity. However, she is very jealous, and today when we picked up our 12yr old sausage dog she attacked her and bit off half her ear What should we do? My parents are of the opinion that my " puppy" needs to be put down since she has bitten a piece out of the other dog. Is this true? Can the two dogs be reconciled, or must my " puppy" be re homed, or put down?? PLEASE HELP My 2yr old HAS been socialized, we completed a full training course with her. Also, we have NEVER had issues dealing with her temperament, this was the first occasion which is why I'm asking for advice on a way forward. Thanks for the answers.

New Puppy Has Jealousy Issues?
I recently got a 5 month old German shepperd beagle puppy but he seems to be jealous of my 8 year old Miniature Schnauzer. Whenever I call the 8 year old, the puppy runs at me. When I pet the 8 year old, the puppy snaps or jumps on him. He also takes the 8 year Old food and doesn't let him drink his water. The puppy is a little bigger the the schnauzer. They play together and i take them for walks together, but he just has jealousy problems. How do I get him to stop?
