10 week old White German Shepherd puppy potty training losing ground?
We had gotten a puppy, Heidi Edelweiss, at 8 weeks old from a farm, where the Mama & pups would sleep in a large shed & were going outside to eliminate consistently by 5 6 weeks old. When we brought her home, she did great with alerting us to go out, but as she wasn't properly supervised, she went around the house on destruction mode & we made her a " place" which is a large 8x6 foot closet w a baby gate in our den bedroom. After a week of only 1 " accident" due to our own lapse in timing, she now alerts only to urinate, if that, & after taking her out, where we must walk outdoors & into the yard with her, she will sometime " fake" pee & no matter how long we stay out, up to 20 minutes, she makes no effort to poo. She will wait until we are settled down into bed & or asleep, then poops. I've made sure not to play & will keep her on a lead & walk in circles by her " spot" but it all seems to be in vain. She will cause a ruckus to wake us 4 5 times a night, yet doesn't eliminate when she's taken outside. It's as if she taught herself to poop in her " place" after going outside & I really am baffled as how to stop this. Any advice for me & Heidi so we can start our relationship on better circumstances? I know she is still a baby, but this just seems & feels so wrong. Thanks in advance for any help or advice you can give us.
New puppy potty training help?!?
We've had our new 11 week pomeranian for about 3 days. He wasn't eating much for the first two days, but now is. We take him out every 45 minutes to go to the bathroom, or whenever he spins or stays to sniff around. We stay out with him for at least fifteen minutes, and he may just pee a LITTLE. But as soon as we put him down inside, he decides to pee or deficate inside. Any ideas of what he is doing and how we can fix it?Thanks Also, please don't suggest crate training or pad training, for we won't be doing that with him. He doesn't even sleep in his crate at night, but in bed with me, and doesn't go in the bed. My Grandmother trained her dogs to pad train, and they sometimes on the pad, and other places where it's bare flooring.Also, he isint going in the same area. He goes just wherever when he gets inside, and once he does, we take him out right away to go outside again. We then steralize that area with Lysol.
I don't get how puppy potty training works?
I don't get it. Are they supposed to pee outside? Or, can I use a litter box. Also, where are they supposed to poop? If the answer is in my backyard, do I have to pick it up and throw it away?
10 week BLUE HEELER puppy potty training & tricks?
I got him about 3 weeks ago and I need some help, I'm the only one who trains him... for the first week or so he went to the toilet on the newspaper. Then for some reason, he started going anywhere... whenever I catch him I take him to the paper but it doesn't work. What do I do? ALSO, I've taught him some tricks sit, laydown, rollover, paw shake , he's extremely smart, and learns SO quickly. But he sometimes gets them wrong I correct him afterwards like, I say sit but he'll lay down instead. If he makes the mistake should I say lay down after and give him a treat or should I wait for him to get it right? THANK YOU
What am I doing wrong with my puppy potty training?
Hi It's only been a week but my lack of progress is getting disappointing frustrating. How long does this normally take?I haven't been rubbing his nose in it, because I heard that's bad. I've just been watching him like a hawk and whenever he start sniffing I say " outside " and take him outside, and then I say " go potty " , and when he goes I give him a treat and say " good Oliver good go potty" . Watching him like a hawk is getting exhausted and has to go every 20 30 minutes. He's a 9 week old Pembroke Welsh Corgi, and I want him to learn but I don't know how what to do differently. When I catch him in the house I say " NO" and take him out to go potty to finish normally he's already done and I don't know what to do then.

I have a new puppy and have been working on potty training, she still has a lot of accidents inside...any tips?
Is my puppy potty training schedule is alright? Gone for 8 hours?
Before we get her, we have one problem It's only on Monday and Wednesday that we are gone from the house for about 8 hours, and I'm worried about my 8 week old puppy during that time. The schedule for Mon. and Wed will probably look like this 5 00 am take puppy out to relieve 6 30 am take puppy out & breakfast afterwards7 45 am take puppy out one last time before everyone leaves the house Gone for a little over 8 hours 4 00 5 00 pm Take puppy out & lunchplay time, walks, etc.6 00 pm take puppy out7 20 pm take puppy out8 20 pm take puppy out & dinnerBasically take it out almost every hour or so until bedtime at around 12 00 1 00 am will be the last time it will go out before bedtime. What should I do about the crate training? I know it's not good for them to eliminate in their crate, but I don't want to have to force her to hold it in, so I was thinking of sectioning off an area with a cardboard box and have a training pad for her when she has to go. Is this okay? It's only for Mon. and Wed.No, I meant that I am going to section off a bit of his crate with a cardboard box, and have the training pad on the other side. I'm not going to put her in a box.her
Just got a new puppy. potty training help please.. tea cup size breed. ?
I have a small breed, a pompoo. Very small dog. It's Stellas first hours home with us. She plays with her food. I've taken her outside. We live in Minnesota its cold out. She just chew on leash and seems anything but into going Potty. Then we come in she plays and acts silly.. and eventually piddles on the floor. Is it too cold out for her or am I just missing something.? Ive been around dogs in the past but never had a puppy so any help or advice will be greatly appreciated. She is a very small breed and I've mainly been around medium to large does dog size matter in trying?
Puppy potty training set back?
have a 5 month old puppy that's been doing excellent with the potty training has only had one accident since i got him at 9weeks old. My question is due to a death in the family i have to leave him for a weekend with a co worker so i can attended a funeral. now i know i can't expect my co worker to be on top of the schedule like i am so if he does have accidents in the 2 days i'm gone will this put me back on potty training allot? i've made him a list of when and how much to feed and told him to take him out every 2 to 3 hours. And he'll have his crate too.

Puppy potty training...?
I have a question about potty training and also if anyone has any tips please help me out our new 3 month old puppy is having problems potty training.. today after she ate we took her outside to pee poo, she didnt go so we put her in her crate, we took her out half hour later and she didnt go so she went back in the crate, another half hour later we took her for half and hour walk and she didnt go so we put her back in the crate. another half an hour later we took her out and she peed and we praised her like hell but she wouldnt poo and so we put her in her crate... about 15 minutes later she pood in her crate and i ran over and gave her a loud 'no " .. anyways what should we do? should I make her sleep in it all night or is that horrible? I just want her to learn that she has to go outside. Her crate is not too big for her, she doesnt have an area where she can poo and sleep on the other side... if I leave the poo in there she will be sleeping in it and I will just wash her off in the morning.I just dont understand, obviously she has to go bathroom, she just isnt interested in going outside to do, she is a big dog and she just doesnt want to be outside, she wants to stay in am I doing the right thing putting her in the crate if she doesnt bathroom because sometimes she is in it for 4 hours a day because she doesnt go after eating I dont want her to be in the crate at all but I want her to learn fast to not potty indoors but she waits to go inside because...its warm? or safe? Yes I will clean the bedding, I was just wondering if it would teach her to go outside and hold it in her crate. We are spending all day trying to train her taking her inside, outside, inside, outside every half hour until she finally goes and she is spending too much time in that crate. Very stubborn.

How do you indoor puppy potty train instead of outside? Cause my puppy constanly drinks water from time to time and can't keep going outside any good methods for INDOOR potty training???

My puppy needs help potty training. She whines to go outside when she has to poop. But she doesnt make any sound or almost any warning to go pee and just goes? What can i do to fix this?She's almost 2 months old.
Puppy Potty training. Help please!?
I just got a puppy a few days ago and I'm having a little trouble potty training him. One i work full time so i can't spend as much time with him as I'd like to.Other times he'll pee or poop right in front of me, and I'll stop him midway, say " no" with a negative tone and take him outside.Other times ill stop what I'm doing and take him outside for a walk so he can finish his business, and he won't go its so frustrating. Last night i interrupted him during a Pee, so i took him out for a walk for 30 minutes and he didn't pee. Soon as we came back from the walk he peed on my carpet again.What am i doing wrong?While im at work he just messes around my apartment, i leave my balcony door open so he can go outside if he wants to. Also , its a little difficult to train him because he still doesn't know his name O O'' Hopefully once he learns his name it'll make things easier.
